A much needed date night.

I received an text from Z yesterday while I was working at the daycare yesterday evening. It read, “be ready at 6:15, it’s a surprise.” I have been on him a lot lately about how much I like surprise nights, so I was ecstatic. He came a picked me up and we headed out. He drove to Albany, a town roughly 45 minutes from home. He took me to the mall and followed me around EVERY store I possibly wanted to go to and even carried my purse and clothes I wanted to try on. He hates shopping and didn’t complain once. After we visited the mall he took me to eat at a Chinese restaurant that his Uncle has been recommending every time Albany has been mentioned in a conversation. I LOVEEEEE Chinese food. The Hong Kong Cafe was nothing like the typical Chinese restaurants I am used to. It had a nice romantic feel to it as well as awesome food. They were really quick and gave us a LOT of food. We ate all we could AND had enough to eat for lunch today! Best of all it was CHEAP. After that we went to Target for more shopping, until they kicked us out because they closed at 10. WHO IN THE HECK CLOSES AT 10 ON A FRIDAY NIGHT? Obviously Target. A trip is never complete without a trip to Wal-Mart so we walked around there for WAY to long. Before we knew it the clock had struck 12 and I was soon to turn into a pumpkin if he didn’t get me home! All in all last night was AMAZING and very much needed.

Pink is my favorite color after all :)

So I went to get my annual hair cut and coloring last Thursday. I usually don’t wait a year to cut my hair but I do go that long this time because I was “letting it grow out”. I gave in to my annual craving of cutting it all off! I did and am pleased with my decision! LA, the hair guru, who also doubles as my big sister’s best friend, asked me what colors I wanted. I usually respond with the same thing everytime, “what ever you want to do”. I completely trust her with my hair and know if she does something that I just TOTALLY hate, she’ll do whatever to make it better. Plus, I’m not too incredibly picky with my hair, after all I’ve been living the past 9 or so months coloring with $3 out of the box color from Wal-Mart! She asked if I wanted pink this time and I told her to go for it. I know what you are thinking, PINK?. But it’s not that bad. It’s a few pieces on either side on the under layers. So it’s barely visible, yet it packs a HUGE punch when you see it poking out through my lovely blonde locks and highlights. Zack hates it, and hated it when she was doing it. Sweetie went with me to my appointment in hopes that he could get his hair trimmed during my appointment. So we both got our hair makeovers at the same time.

Here are some pictures of my hair.

Before. Not so recent (two years old!) but the hair looks THE  EXACT SAME as when I got it cut! :) See, I needed an update! P.S. the beautiful girl accompanying me in this picture is my LOVELY, older sister, Sarah, read about her here :)

Here’s a picture of my hair cut, you can’t see the pink really well here.

And here it is! I have the top layer of my hair pulled up so you can see the pink! Trust me, I am not brave enough to have it showing that much!

WIMP

I know you probably think I forgot about all of you who read my blog. No worries I haven't forgotten just haven't found the right thing to blog about. With both of my sisters in the blogging world, most of what I am going to write about they beat me to! So, here's one I KNOW they haven't done! Check out their blogs(Sarah at HoneySugahDahlin' and Sami at SavannahSteelMagnolia) if you don't believe me!

I have seen this all over the internet. WIMP doesn't mean a person who is a scaredy cat. For all purposes today in my blog it stands for What's In My Purse(or bag if you so choose to do that!)! I got on YouTube the other night and spent well over an hour watching peoples videos describing what's in their purse/bags. Hopefully you will play along and show us what's in YOUR purse! Here goes...

My sweet kids :)

I know I told you I would write this yesterday but didn't actually do it. I know, I am a slacker! :) Here are some pictures and updates on how my day was yesterday!

I went and got J and R from school and we went and got lunch. We spent the whole afternoon nearly playing hide and seek and playing the Xbox. It was a blast. I know I am going to have fun with these sweet youngin's this summer!

summer :)

So tomorrow I start my summer babysitting job. I am completely excited! Last year I kept and fell in love with a little boy named Nate. It was hands down the best summer I have ever had. I spent time with Nate every day and grew closer and closer to him. As August neared, I had to cope with the fact that I wouldn't get to see my little man as much anymore. I stopped to visit a few times on my way home from college on the weekends and then they moved.

This summer I am sure will be completely different yet equally enjoyable. I am keeping an 10 year old girl, R and her younger brother, J who is 8. I am not used to older children. I have experience with babysitting them but the majority of the children I babysit are younger. However, I am sure we will have a lot of fun. Because they are older I can take them to a movie, bowling, or even putt-putt and am sure they will enjoy it! I am excited to get to know them and grow close to them over the next few months.

I'll update you tomorrow on how our first day goes!

And the verdict is...

Well I have pretty much talked myself out of changing my major. I love younger children and could probably do more with an Early Childhood Education degree than a Middle Grades Education degree. I thank my friends and families for honestly giving their humble opinions and leading me in the right direction!

On another note this weekend has been great! Friday night we ate at Sarah and Bubb's. We had "Fatties", and they were AMAZINGGGGGG! We have never tried them before and they were out of the world! A fattie is a layer of bacon weaved like a basket and laid out. Then on top of that goes hamburger meat and then whatever you would like to add in the middle. It is then rolled up like a log and smoked for 3 hours. Bubb made another rendition with weaved bacon, sausage, granny smith apples, and maple syrup that I was reluctant to try. I did though and it was way better than the hamburger fattie! My Bubb is an awesome 'Cook".

P.S. These are all from my sister. I stole them from here!

Saturday my mama, Sami and I spent most of the afternoon soaking up some rays in the swimming pool. Later than night we met up with some of Mama and Daddy's friends and Sarah and took a trip down to Uvalda to Benton Lee's Steakhouse for a super awesome supper. The steaks my sisters got were HUGE. They both brought back almost as much as would be served at any other restaurant for leftovers!

We took my car to Benton Lee's and let the old folks ride in the RV. We called it the Geriatric Party Bus, we named it that with much love :)
(Another picture stolen from here!)

Today I went to Zack's cousin, Macy's dance recital. I have gone the past three years and have thouroughly enjoyed seeing her dance and improve every year. She did so well this year she'll have to work EXTRA hard to make it any better next year!
