Champion Kids- Tuesday Recap

Yesterday we went to Champion Kids and played our little hearts out. Champion Kids is similar to Play but has a bigger facility and more to do.  Because the camera died I wasn’t able to get any pictures. Even though, I am not sure I would have had the battery been charged! He was like a speed demon from one side of the building to the other running and playing! Here are some pictures I stole from their website to give you a better idea of the atmosphere.

The main lobby

This is the room we mainly stayed in. There are tons of cushion mats and toys to jump on. On the other side of the room by the yellow wall is a LONG trampoline and at the corner where the yellow wall and red wall meet there is a huge foam pit to land in!

The blue and yellow circle cushion toy is what Nate enjoyed most of the time! He rolled that thing all over.

The foam pit was fun! Here’s a close up

and the longggggg trampoline

There is another room connected to this that has a huge blow up slide, bouncy house, and hard toys like a wooden slide and balance beams. There is also a section in the other room for younger children and those who are crawling.

Needless to say we had one sleepy boy when we left! So we went home and napped. When we woke up we went to swim with our neighbors  Julie(mom), Rebecca, and Margaret! We had a really good time and enjoyed the cool water in the midst of this nasty summer heat!

Hope to get you some more pictures of our sweet boy tomorrow!

Random order

Monday we packed up and headed to Imagine it! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta and had a BLAST! The museum boasts several different learning centers like a farm complete with a real John Deere Tractor, a grocery store with shopping  buggies and groceries, a delivery truck, a water play area where you can pretend fish, sports center, dress up center, moon sand tables, dance studio with a pair of tap shoes for every size foot imaginable, a play place, and a cool science center in which you can use different pulley mechanisms to raise and lower ball pit balls and move them from one place to another. I’m sure you can guess where we stayed most of the day by the million of pictures with the tractor!

Here is Nate with his new friend on the crane moving the balls from one container to another.

We had a great time at the children’s museum Monday.

Monday night we ate dinner and cookie cake at Julia's friend Janie's house for her birthday. I have loved getting to know Janie throughout the summer with Julia and Nate and was excited to meet her family and spend a little bit of time with them.

I am hoping this week drags by because Friday will be my last day up here with Nate and Julia. I hate to have to leave and hate even more to have to start school on Monday but I will be done in May for good, PTL!

Up next, recap of Tuesdays events!

Here goes nothing...

Oh my, have I missed my little man! I am glad to be back in the presence of Nater and Julia. It feels like it’s been months since I have seen them! I know they enjoyed their time at the beach with Grammy and Bob, but I’m glad to have them back!

Since Nate doesn’t go back to school until the middle of August, we’ve been hanging out in the mornings around the house. It’s nice to be able to take our time getting up and ready with no set time to leave, but I think he misses school a little.

We did get a lot done yesterday though! We ran errands from one end of Marietta(and even into Roswell!) to the other. On our errands we picked up some special items…

Yes, that is BIG BOY UNDERWEAR! We have been talking about getting this potty training thing started for a while but haven’t found the “right” time with everything going on(beach trips, camp, etc). So here goes… We are going cold turkey and are going to try to transition him from diaper to underwear and skipping pull ups. Cross your fingers for us!

Here are some pictures of our sweet boy decorating a shaker filled with rice.He wanted to put the stickers on himself. Isn’t he so cute?

Our fun day of PLAY

Yesterday Nate and I went to Roswell to PLAY. It’s a great way to let out energy. For my South Georgia people, it’s kind of like Dream It! Gymnastics in Tifton. There are blow-up jump toys, a foam pit, and trampolines! Click on the link for more information about PLAY.

Now for the good stuff. Pictures!

Pigs and Presents!

I have no clue what is going on with my email on my phone which is why I couldn’t post pictures last night. I did realize, however, that both my phone AND computer have bluetooth. I tried to upload the pictures that way and it was SO easy! I have no clue why I’ve been emailing them to myself because it was so easy! Needless to say, I will be doing that more often!

Over the weekend, Johnny and I were in CVS and found these cute little toys that “grow” up to 600% their original size. We picked up a few for Nate. We tried out the pig yesterday and are waiting to see how big it grows. It supposedly takes 72 hours..

That afternoon we found a package on the doorstep addressed to Nate. He was so excited! The return address? Grammy and Bob!

Nate immediately tried to get into it!

With some help from some bigger hands with a pair of scissors he got it open!

He got past the brown packing paper and was in awe! “WOW!”IMAG0298

This is a picture of his goodies! He got a Clifford the Firehouse Dog book with a matching stuffed Clifford, squirting fish bath toys, and a swimming duck bath toy! THANKS SO MUCH GRAMMY AND BOB!

Grammy and Bob also snuck in a special gift for me! A zebra and pink monogrammed baby wipe box. How appropriate being my blog is named Zebra Stripes and Baby Wipes! Thank you so much! I LOVE IT!

I got to snap some cute pictures of Julia and Nate cuddling yesterday afternoon. Precious!IMAG0306

Picnic and Concert in the Park

Tonight we packed our dinner and headed to a concert at the East Cobb Park.

We had sandwiches, apples, chips, and plenty of things to drink in the heat!

IMAG0273

The park hosts what they call the Ultimate Playdate in the Park every week. It is basically a great way to get outside and enjoy music and the company of other people. There were several families and tons of children Nate’s age that were singing and dancing on stage.

Here is our sweet man dancing

Nate had a blast just being outside and running around! That boy has more energy than Julia and I together! He slap wore us out!

Now off to bed…AT 9:15PM!

More painting fun!

Today we pulled out our easel and painted like Picasso.  Don’t you love the shirt? They must have painted at school because he came home in that with markers/paint all over it so we left it on!

IMAG0271

Here is the finished product! I love it!

IMAG0272

He had a blast and believe it or not, I got more paint on me than he did. He dropped the paint well on my leg. haha. I got a rainbow leg and really wish I would have thought to take a picture to share!
