Another surprise date

So, Z surprised me again with a special date night. He picked me up from my house after work and whisked me away to Macon! Unfortunately, Macon is almost an hour and half drive so after we went to Academy Sports(to get skeet and shotgun shells for our skeet shooting events tomorrow at our cookout. More about that later) we only got to visit the mall for about an hour. We did get to peruse a few stores and finally were off to find something we could sink our teeth into.

He took me here….

So I may or may not have mentioned last month’s yard sale. If not, I’ll recap. My older sister, my Bubb(brother-in-law), and I cleaned out our parents garage last month and got everything together for a huge yard sale. We decided proceeds would go to buying food for a HUGE cookout. This weekend is our cookout and we are sure to have a blast complete with a skeet shoot(sort of a tradition). We go out in my back yard and shoot whatever we want. The boys like to show off their mad skills and Z placed 2nd in the nation on Georgia’s 4-H Shooting Sports Team of four members! I will be sure to snag some pictures to show off tomorrow!

Have a happy weekend!

Headed home.

Daddy woke up at the crack of dawn this morning ready to go. See, I told you he's not much for the beach! I didn't get up until around 1030AM because when we talked about what time we were leaving he said around lunch time! He and I headed back home early because we have to work this week. Mama and Sami are staying in Daytona until Friday!

We finally made it out, it took some prodding to get me going, around 1140. I talked him into stopping by Starbucks as we were headed out. I introduced him to the Caramel Frappaccino yesterday and he's HOOKED! He loves it!

We took back roads home and saw all the beauty North Florida and South Georgia has to offer. We only took THREE pee breaks! lol.

On our third and final break, we stopped in Enigma, GA which is less than an hour and half from home we pulled into one of TWO convienence stores around and as we pulled in Daddy said there's a cop. I turned around and there were blue lights behind us. I couldn't figure why we would get pulled over. We weren't speeding. Daddy didn't go over 70 the entire ride from Daytona(the speed limit was 65 most of the way). He told me to go in and I did. When I came out the officer was holding my Daddy's drivers license and registration. This can't be good!

I got in the truck and didn't say a word, just listened. The officer was talking to daddy about how he passed us in the road and clocked us going *78* in a 55. WHAT THE HECK? I told you earlier, Daddy didn't exceed 70MPH the WHOLE TIME! He had his cruise on. My Daddy is precious as can be. He is the building inspector for Turner County and has this super awesome badge saying so in his wallet. That thing is LEGIT! He showed the officer his badge and told him that he abides the law and has not had a ticket or even been pulled over in 20 years and that he works with the police, firefighters, and EMTs back home and tries to obey the law. The officer told him he would leave it up to Daddy to decide what the officer should do. SERIOUSLY?? WHO WOULD TELL YOU THEY WANTED TO GET A TICKET???? Long story short, he gave Daddy a verbal warning and told him get his speedometer checked out. So we headed on home from there as Daddy replayed the situation over and over to me! lol

Daytona: Day 3 ((A day late!))

We woke up this morning and went to the beach for about an two hours or so. After having enough sand in our crack for our liking we headed back up to the pool and tried to lay out there. It was WAYYYY too hot so we trucked our way back up to the condo and took a long, needed nap. When we woke up around 4 Daddy had just arrived back at the condo from his pawn shop adventures. Daddy has never been a fan of water. I don't think he has owned a swim suit as long as I have been alive. But he SURE loves Daytona. He can probably tell you where EVERY car dealer, pawn shop, and good eating place is in a 30 mile radius!

We ate Popeyes(HOORAY! NO ITALIAN!) for supper. This was a treat as the one that was close to us closed down a few years back! We love it! After supper he drove us around the Ponce Inlet, New Smyrna Beach, and Daytona Beach Shores just to ride and then we headed back to the condo where we watched fireworks! ((pictures to come later, they are on Mama's computer!))

Hope everyone enjoyed their Fourth!

Daytona: Day 2

Today was a good day. We went to the Daytona Flea Market and had a pretty good time. I think the journey there and back was the most exciting to everyone, even though we love the flea market! I am sure EVERYONE knows it’s race weekend in Daytona and there are MILLIONS of people around. Luckily, we are staying on the beach and not near the Speedway!!

After the flea market, we ate at a nice Italian(yes, two days in a row!) restaurant called Sorrento’s. It was good! Mama had an OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD cheese steak, Daddy had pizza, and Sami and I had sandwiches! Daddy has eaten there before but it was completely new to us and I imagine we will be back.

We haven’t actually stepped foot on the beach since we got here yesterday so we made plans to visit the beach for some fun in the sun after we ate. No sooner than we pulled on the street our condo is on it started raining. The sky was full of blackish clouds. Bummer. Mama and I waited around in the condo just long enough for the clouds to pass and headed out to the beach. We got a good 30 minutes out there to just relax and lounge around and it started raining again. Maybe it will clear up tomorrow and not be windy and rainy I would love to actually spend time on the beach! I leave Monday…YIKES!

Daytona: Day 1

I am making a point to blog about our trip daily. It's only a few days. this shouldn't be so hard, right? I think one of the reasons, besides the fact that I am lazy and enjoy FARRRR to much reading about others lives, that I don't blog is because I feel I have nothing interesting to say. So I'll try it. If you get bored, don't read. Simple as that!

This morning started off pretty good. We decided last night that we were going to leave at 10 this morning to drive "until the map turned blue." So we did. After a mid-morning brunch at Steak and Shake, we headed on. My younger sister, Sami, and I drove my mothers hot, red convertible while Mama rode with Daddy in his truck.

We decided during breakfast that we were just going to go our own ways and meet up in Daytona. This was amazing for us as we could take as many pee breaks as we possibly wanted without calling them and telling them we wanted to stop, etc. So we took our own time and also a different route from them. We went through downtown Jacksonville, which was probably a mistake. The traffic was crazy(remember I am a small town girl!) and it was raining. BLEH. But we made it through and kept on trucking. 3 1/2 hours and one stop later we were getting off of the GLORIOUS exit to Daytona Beach.

Mama and Daddy ended up getting to the condo less than 10 minutes after us, with no stops. ((Neh, Daddy didn't think we could keep up!)) The girls shortly headed out for a Wal-Mart run to get groceries and other miscellaneous items while Daddy hit up some pawn shops and what not. He and Mama have been coming here for years for bike week and we've been here for family vacations as well so Daddy has friends here.

When we arrived back at the condo there was a pizza paper stuffed under our door. There was no question about where we would eat tonight. We loaded back up and headed to Sicily Pizza. When we pulled up I realized that the bathrooms were outside behind the building, not a good sign. This place looked shady to say the least! It was connected to an old beach shop that was obviously closed and had been for years. Yet we preceded in to eat. Mama and I shared a stromboli and Daddy and Sami shared a calzone. The food was pretty good, yet I still was not thrilled about the atmosphere.

Daddy drove us around and we went to a few beach shops before heading back to the condo. Sami and I headed off to Sally's to get some nail polish for her and pink hair dye to touch up my hair. No such luck. Who knew Sally's closed at 7:30PM on a Friday? We ended up getting there at 7:25 and that place was LOCKED UP TIGHT!

We headed back to the condo to wind down and rest up for a nice day at the flea market tomorrow.

Come back tomorrow to hear about Daytona: Day 2. :) ((P.S. I'll try to take at least a few pictures to upload tomorrow! It's so boring with all of these words and no pictures!))

Three more days!

I am so excited about our annual Fourth of July trip to Daytona. :) Mama, Daddy, Sami, and I are leaving Friday to head down to the beautiful shores. Daddy and I have work next week so we will be coming home on Monday, but Mama and Sami are enjoying the beach until next Friday. I am needing a break from EVERYTHING in life.

Until then I am babysitting, babysitting, babysitting! I LOVE IT! I am keeping two different families and working at the daycare the next two days. What could be more exciting than kids? I love babysitting because when you are having fun it doesn't feel like work!

Gotta go get ready for Pretty Little Liars! If you don't watch it, you should check it out!

Opinions???

I have heard these little beauties are supposed to tone you up while you walk. I walk a LOT for school(when it's in session) and wear tennis shoes EVERY day. I think these are totally cute but are they worth the $100-150? If you have these or personally know someone that does let me know what you/they think. Thanks!

I like these silver ones....

((I'm pretty sure Sarah just threw up in her mouth. She has no appreciation for metallics!))
