Happy Birthday dear Bob!
Today Grammy and Bob came to Georgia! Nate has been beside himself with all of our visitors, first PJ then Grammy and Bob? Can it get any better?!
After school we went to pick up this little beauty. So not only is Bob visiting and celebrating Father’s Day with his two favorite children and his grandson, but he is celebrating the big SIX-OH! Julia got him a special cake made with a throwback picture from his earlier days…we’re talking college here…and it turned out SO CUTE!
I promised Nate that after we ate lunch, he took a nap, and we played for a bit that Bob would be here and after that Mama and Grammy would be home. When I got him up from nap he started looking for Bob. That boy doesn’t miss a beat! I explained that we have to wait a little while before Bob would be here. Sure enough he showed up and Nate was one happy little boy! About an hour later more good news came when the garage door opened and in walked his Grammy and Mama!
He was non-stop all night! He played his little heart out with his Grammy and Bob.They were both talked into playing trains with him and scolded when they stopped to have a conversation outside of the train table! The poor birthday boy even got ridden like a horse! But they LOVED every minute of it. How couldn’t you!?
For dinner Mrs. Carol made stacked tortillas which were yummy. It’s what I would call a Mexican lasagna with tortillas, chicken, salsa, guacamole, and LOTS OF CHEESE! It was great! Afterwards, of course, we had cake! We enjoyed “eating” Bob as we stuffed our face with the yummy, sugary icing! Bob and Nate snuck some icing as they waited to cut the cake!
I had a great time with the Green/Hudson family and loved watching them interact with Nate. He is such a blessed little boy to have such a great family with both his mom and dad’s families! It’s off to Tifton tomorrow to spend Father’s day with his Daddy for Nate!
Fun-filled day!
Per Nate’s request, I waited in the pick up line at school with the top down on my car! He loves riding with the top down, but he is scared of being in the car when the top goes up and down. So he asked if I could put it down and then pick him up. I did and he was SO excited! He was giggling the moment he walked out the door with his teacher.
We went to Target and he picked out a toy tractor and we grabbed some Chic Fil A and headed home. By the time we got home he ate and was ready for nap. He actually asked if he could go to sleep today! He must have played hard at school!
After nap Julia was home and he started putting a puzzle together in her office while she did some work. I helped him finish it. He did a great job. I am loving the fact that he’s old enough to find the pieces that “match”.
He and Julia are at the airport picking up “Cousin P.J.” who is spending the weekend in Georgia from Arizona(I’m pretty sure that’s where he’s from). Tomorrow Bob and Grammy are coming and then Friday he is going to Tifton to spend Father’s day with his daddy and me with my two(maybe three, if my Bubb is around!) favorite dad’s in my life! Busy, busy, busy weekend ahead!

It’s trash day!!!
Today Nate went to school and flawlessly transitioned back to our old routine of me dropping him off early and picking him up a few hours later! We love to recap the day as soon as I pick him up asking who was at school today, was anyone absent(We are working on absent and present), what they did, etc. Then I give him a play-by-play of the afternoon. He snuck in a new one on me on the way home. He said “I missed you today.” Talk about melting my heart!!! I missed him too!
When we got home we ate lunch, played a little, took a nap, and played some more! We are doing a lot of preparing for visitors. Julias cousin, PJ is coming to town tomorrow and her parents, Grammy and Bob will be here Thursday! I am so excited to meet/see them all!
After naptime, we played outside until Mama came home! It was so nice outside, and for once this week, not raining. The temperature was great. I set up my tailgate chair and brought my study materials and got down to business while he rode every single toy he owns down the driveway. This weekend I am taking my middle grades math and science certification tests and am hitting the books HARD this week!
While playing outside Nate helped me wheel in the trashcan. Here is a precious video of my darling boy being very resourceful!
We ate Firehouse subs for dinner and ran a few errands and came home to wind down. We did a little painting with watercolor and I do believe Julia and I enjoyed it more than Nate! here they are painting and our finished products!!

WHEWWW!
What a whirlwind of a weekend! Scott, Nate, and I headed back to South Georgia Wednesday afternoon for the long weekend. Nate didn’t have to go back to school until today. It was the first day of summer camp.
After they dropped me off at my house they headed to the beach with Scott’s parents! Nate was excited to see his Weewah and Papa and ride the golf cart!
I spend the weekend with Liam and David. I am so glad to have those sweet boys. We just hung out Friday and Saturday they came to our house to play. We swam for a brief while but with the rain we have gotten this past weekend it was kind of cold.
Sunday we celebrated my twin Aunt and Uncle’s birthday at my house with a cookout and Nate and Scott came to pick me up to head back to Atlanta. The trip back north was miserable with the rain and traffic. It took nearly four hours to make a 2 1/2 hour trip to Atlanta. There were wrecks, people who went in the woods, and stopped traffic EVERYWHERE but we made it!
This morning was Nate’s first day of camp. I picked him up this afternoon and we came to eat lunch. Nate works well when you walk him through step-by-step of what’s going to happen. So I told him after school we were going to go home, go potty, eat lunch, wash his sheets, and take a nap. He did just that. He got to sleep in his Mama’s bed because his sheets weren’t done washing by bed time. I was thinking this would throw him off but it didn’t. I had to wake him up!
We baked cookies and played the rest of the afternoon!
Someone couldn’t wait to eat one!
After we ate our cookies, or had “cookie time” as Nate proclaimed loudly as soon as he heard the timer go off, we took a bath! After bath he usually winds down in Julia’s bed with the iPad watching tractor videos but since she had her iPad with her we played with his tractor. He saw a “boo boo” on my leg and kissed it. After that my precious boy proceded to find every single teeny-tiny boo boo I had and kissed it. That boy definitely is a sweetie pie! Here are some pictures of us hanging out on Julia’s bed waiting for Mama to come home from her mini vacation. He is so hard to take pictures of. These are the best ones I got! My Nate is such a WIGGLE WORM!
Nate excited to see Julia after his long weekend at the beach with his Daddy! She brought him back a stuffed iguana and together they named him “Iggy”. He loves Iggy!
That’s all for today!

If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands…
Nate had a VERY busy day today! This morning he had his graduation ceremony in which he sang “If you’re happy and you know it”. He did a great job and in my opinion was he loudest of the group! It was a great ceremony and it is always emotional to see the bigger kids recite their speech as they graduate.
After the ceremony, we ate lunch at the O.K. CafĂ© in Atlanta with Julia’s friend, Laila and her daughter Lillia. (I probably murdered those spellings. If you’re reading, please forgive me!) Lunch was good and so was the company!!
Julia, Nate, and Scott hung out the rest of the afternoon. I know Nate had a fun time and he told me he got some ice cream! Where can you go wrong with ice cream?!

Busy day!
I stayed in Marietta this weekend and we had a blast! Friday night I babysat the sweet neighbors youngest, Margaret. We had so much fun!
Saturday we loaded up the car and headed to the lake with Julia’s friend Janie and her precious baby girl, Maddie! Nate loved the water and enjoyed jumping in and floating around on the giant tube float! (Pictures to follow as soon as I find some to share!) I kept both of the neighbors little girls Saturday night and Rebecca and I played with puzzles, read lots of stories, and cuddled a bit before bed.
Sunday we relaxed! Julia and Nate visited the “Tractor Store” as Nate calls it. We call it Home Depot! He love ANYTHING tractor so of course Home Depot is a favorite. That boy would rather go sit on the tractors at HD than go to a park any day!!
Speaking of parks, today was Nate’s school end-of-the-year party at the East Cobb Park. We met with several of the kids and teachers from his school for fun and fellowship. Unfortunately, the morning was dreary and rainy. But the kids did get some playground time, albeit it was wet. After the party at the park we headed home for a nap! Nate was suchhhh a big boy and got in bed and took a great nap! I had to wake him up! We are working on getting into the routine of napping when we get home from school. Since he was at school in the afternoons during regular session, he napped at school. Now that school is out and he will only be going to camp for half a day we need to make that adjustment! I must say, he definitely is doing well and being a big boy!
After nap we made muffins! Nate loves blueberry muffins! He enjoyed helping me stir but I think he liked licking the batter better! I managed to get some shots of him in action!
Sneaking a lick as we filled the tin!
The final product! YUMMM!
Just chilling on his police car eating blueberry muffins.
Later this afternoon, Julia’s friend Holly and her son Will stopped by. They were in the neighborhood and saw us outside. Nate loved playing with Will and drove him up and down the driveway! These two played so well together!
Here are some random shots of us throughout the day.
He helped me get ready today by blow drying my hair! What a big helper!
Say cheese!
Here is a video of cuteness! He loves taking videos!
